JOB PURPOSE
The Quality Assurance Analyst supports the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance in the development, implementation, monitoring, and ongoing evaluation of the organization's Quality Assurance program. Under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance, the Quality Assurance Analyst conducts audits, reviews documentation and operational processes, analyzes quality and compliance data, identifies trends and potential areas of risk, monitors corrective actions, and assists departments in maintaining continuous regulatory and accreditation readiness.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Quality Assurance Program Support
- Assist the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance with implementation and ongoing management of the facility-wide Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement program.
- Support development, maintenance, and annual review of the organization's Quality Assurance Plan, monitoring activities, performance indicators, audit schedules, and quality improvement priorities.
- Assist with preparation of Quality Assurance reports, dashboards, summaries, and presentations for leadership and designated quality committees.
- Participate in multidisciplinary quality review activities and assist departments in identifying opportunities for improvement.
Auditing and Monitoring
- Conduct scheduled and focused audits of clinical, medical, nursing, administrative, and operational processes as assigned by the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance.
- Review records and processes for compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and established documentation expectations.
- Maintain organized audit tools, supporting documentation, findings, and follow-up records.
Data Collection and Analysis
- Collect, organize, validate, and analyze quality and performance data.
- Monitor established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other quality measures.
- Identify patterns, trends, recurring deficiencies, and areas of potential organizational risk.
- Assist in converting audit, survey, and performance findings into meaningful reports that allow leadership to evaluate performance and establish improvement priorities.
Corrective Action and Performance Improvement
- Assist the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance in developing and monitoring programmatic Corrective Action Plans (CAPs).
- Track identified deficiencies, responsible departments or individuals, required actions, target completion dates, and follow-up activities.
- Conduct follow-up audits to determine whether corrective actions have been implemented and whether improvement has been achieved and sustained.
- Promptly communicate unresolved, repeated, or significant findings to the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance.
Regulatory Compliance
- Support ongoing compliance with applicable New Jersey Department of Health requirements, federal requirements, organizational policies, and other regulatory standards applicable to the facility.
- Assist with regulatory surveys, inspections, licensing reviews, plans of correction, and requests for documentation.
- Monitor regulatory changes as assigned and assist the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance with evaluating their potential impact on organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
Joint Commission and Accreditation Readiness
- Assist the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance in maintaining continuous readiness for Joint Commission accreditation and other applicable accreditation activities.
- Support ongoing review of applicable accreditation standards and organizational compliance.
- Participate in tracer activities, mock surveys, document reviews, staff readiness activities, and environmental or operational reviews.
Policy and Procedure & SOP Development, Updates & Management
- Assist with the review, organization, revision, and maintenance of organizational policies and procedures and SOP’s.
- Monitor policies for required review and revision dates.
- Assist departments with ensuring that procedures accurately reflect regulatory requirements and current organizational practice.
- Support maintenance of the organization's electronic policy and procedure management system and ensure appropriate version control, approval, and archival processes.
Incident, Risk, and Safety Review
- Assist with review and trending of incidents, adverse events, medication events, grievances, safety concerns, and other quality indicators as assigned.
- Identify recurring trends or patterns requiring further investigation.
- Support root cause analysis, focused review, or other performance improvement activities when requested.
- Immediately escalate findings involving significant client safety, regulatory, ethical, or compliance concerns to the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance or appropriate leadership.
Relationship to the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance
The Quality Assurance Analyst functions as a key support position to the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance and assists with the day-to-day operation of the Quality Assurance program.
The Analyst may independently conduct assigned audits, collect and analyze data, prepare reports, monitor corrective actions, and coordinate quality activities under the direction of the Director of Quality Assurance & Compliance. QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, public health, behavioral health, social work, nursing, psychology, quality management, business administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education and healthcare quality/compliance experience may be considered. MA in related field preferred
Experience: Prior experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, healthcare quality assurance, compliance, accreditation, performance improvement, clinical operations, or healthcare auditing preferred. Experience in a New Jersey licensed healthcare or substance use disorder treatment environment is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Knowledge of healthcare quality assurance and performance improvement principles.
- Strong auditing and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to appropriately manage confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs), data-reporting systems, and related technology.
- Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and communicate quality and compliance data via statistical methods (Excel, R, SAS, etc.)
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, nursing, medical, administrative, and executive leadership.
- Knowledge of New Jersey healthcare and behavioral health regulatory requirements preferred.
- Ability to support continuous regulatory and accreditation readiness.

Compensation: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
